"FSH, what's that? I've never heard of it." "Well," the doctor explained, "16.9 is not good at your age; we must move fast. By the way, how do you feel about needles?"
Caveat Emptor
I apologize in advance if I offend those of you to whom I am related or close friends. Writing this is my catharsis and has been keeping me (moderately) sane of late.
I always thought that when I was ready to have a baby with my wonderful and obnoxiously intelligent husband, it was a given, a guarantee of success; it's my birthright to give birth. Have sex and the baby will come; isn't that the way it's done? That's what they told me in high school!
I mean, we are both award winning teachers, dammit! We have dedicated our lives to helping other people's children! For years we have been told what terrific parents we would make. "When are you gonna have kids; you're so great with them!" "It will be such a shame if you don't have kids!"
Yes, it would be a shame.
